                                                               11/14/2006 - 04/10/2008

This 10th Day of April 2011, we the members of the League of Heroes founded within the virtual world of Second Life, do hereby dedicate this Community Center in the name of former League member Joseph Button.

Who passed on the 10th day of April 2008, we mourn not his death but celebrate his life and his spirit, which has sought to inspire us to carry on our mutual dream of helping others in need.

For over five years now, the League has kept our dream alive to spread the ideals of peace, respect and eternal hope; we shall prevail over those who seek to bring malice to the innocent, and will shine forth the light of unity.

Hunter Talon aka Joseph Button, was a valued Leaguer. Born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, he overcame incredible odds and lived a life many able-bodied people could only dream of.

In Second Life he left his physical limitations behind and one could see the beauty of his soul and spirit. He patrolled regularly and made friends easily.

He was a lifelong writer and comic book fan contributing reviews on superhero movies to Silver Bullet Comics and to Amazon.

His family shared this message with the League,

"Joe defied the odds and lived nearly 25 years with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a rare medical condition, when doctors predicted he wouldn't live past age 2. He lived each day with enthusiasm and accomplished so much in life, always with the desire to help others. In death he chose to donate his body for medical research with the hope that something might be learned about his disease."
